Force Plate Intergration

Post by Dyson_S »

Hi,

My University has just taken delivery of an 18 camera (V100 R2 - Three OptiHubs) Optitrack system. I would like to integrate it with a kistler force plate that we have. Is there any more information available as to how this may be achieved? Also once a force plate has been integrated, when exporting data from ARENA does the force plate data appear in the C3D file?

Thanks

Hello -

At this time, Arena does not support 3rd party device integration. Tracking Tools or a custom application built with the Camera SDK would be the only way to do this. Integration would have to be through the OptiHub.

Dyson

C-Motion's Visual3d will integrate data from NP cameras and other devices into a c3d file (using AMASS and Capture which interfaces with the NP cameras) Their software sends a sync signal thru the Optihub to talk to other devices..

Hi Mike,

Any details about how to integrate through the OptiHub? We don't need to motion data and force data to be contained in a single C3D file, just to be synchronized.

Ps thanks Bryan, I'm aware of this option but unfortunately it is outside our budget

Hi guys,

was able to resolve the issue with the assistance from a colleague from a neighbouring university. Was able to connect the External sync out from the master hub to a trigger port on the force plate amp then use a custom sync in ARENA and a hardware sync in the force plate software.

Ahh, that would work. My apologies for the confusion, the original post did not specify this particular type of synchronization.
