Program shuts down right after starting

I've used TrackIR 5 for several months now with no problems. Last night, my computer did some updates and now TrackIR 5 won't work.

When I click the link to open the program, nothing changes. If I look at the process list in Task Manager, I can see the TrackIR process appear, then immediately disappear (within 1 second)

I've tried re-installing the TrackIR software (twice) and rebooting but the problem is still there.

I'm running Windows XP. All drivers are up to date.
I have an ATI video card, and I see on the downloads page that you recommend using version 4 if there is a problem. But I've used version 5 for several months now and it always worked great. I'd rather not go back to version 4 if I don't have to.

I think I found the solution, so I'll post it here in case anyone else runs into the same problem and finds this thread in a search.

I had my Windows desktop extended to a 2nd monitor. Apparently, the Track IR 5 program didn't like this. I disabled the other monitor and it started right up.

After I had the Track IR program running, then I can extend the desktop to the other monitor without a problem. But once I close the Track IR program, then try to re-start it, the same problem occurs.

Hmm, interesting. What exactly got updated? Was it just windows or was there an ATI update as well? I have no problem running TrackIR 5.1.3 on either a dual or triple monitor system.
