I have FSX Acceleration, Win7 Ultimate, and two EVGA 570s in SLI. TrackIR with Pro Clip works just the way it should until I try to shut it down.
The dialogue box with the "shutting down client.....)appears center screen and stays there and TrIR lights stay on. Task Manager is used to stop the process TrackIR.exe but that only clears the box from my screen....TrIR stay lit up until unplugged.
Any suggestions for a solution appreciated.

Let's try some installation troubleshooting:
Unplug your camera, and uninstall the TrackIR software.
Download a new copy of the latest version of the TrackIR software, and save it to your desktop (note: do not run from the downloader).
Right click on the installer, and select "Run as administrator" (even if your account is an administrator) Finish the installation as normal, plug in your camera, and verify that drivers are properly installed via the device manager.
Run the software, and see if it works properly.

Did an uninstall, reinstalled as admin, plugged it in and it worked as expected. Tried to make some adjustments after minimizing but never could get the TrackIR screen to appear. It normally is in the upper left corner and very small but it would not pop up at all today.
Tried to exit and got the usual "shutting down clients" message but both lights stayed green.
Task manager did not show it running as a program but TrackIR5.exe was still in processes. Ended task using task manager. Lights still both green and on.
Restarted FSX and went through another series of trials. When I attempted to maximize TIR FSX screen was corrupted with bits of TrIR and bits of airplane. Could not be corrected with task manager.
Quit for the day.. Flight simming is no fun like this.

Hmm, something is very wrong with the installation.
I would recommend uninstalling TrackIR 5 and installing TrackIR 4, found here. See if it works. We may have to try a remote desktop session to attempt to troubleshoot this.
