Hi
Thanks for your suggestion but unfortunately it did not work for me.
I have deleted Simconnect files on my windows installation on drive C: and reinstalled Simconnect via FSX repair and reinstalling service packs 1 and 2.
I found that the repair actually reinstalled FSX on my C: drive where my Windows XP lives.
I have my FSX and IL2 loaded on to my FlightSim drive G:
When I checked TrackIr5 operation it did not work with my FSX G: drive install but worked with my repaired C: drive FSX ?
So at this point it works with my basic FSX on C: drive but not my normal G: drive install, but does work with IL2 on G: drive ?
I am now wondering how to get it seeing FSX G: drive starting?
Thanks
Glenn

Hi again,
I finally cured my TIR problem with a total re-install of FSX.
I used the uninstall option on the FSX disk 1, then proceeded to thoroughly clean all traces of FSX from my comp, including all addons etc. then deleted the 3 simconnect files in the windows SXS folder (not advised by some...), then, finally a disk clean and defrag. On the re-install I simply loaded disk 1 + SDK, registered FSX then straight onto Acceleration + SDK install without starting the game at all.
Everything now works as advertised - Trackir 5 is superb, my menu bar problem is also cured (not showing add ons)and Captain Sims gauges now work again...
P.S I also use FSX on a different drive to my OS.
Hope this helps....

Did you delete the Simconnect folders, within the SXS folder, or just the files?

Hi Vincent
As you can see by my earlier reply my TrackIr5 is recognising my repaired (reinstalled) FSX on C: drive but does not recognise FSX on my flightsim drive G:. As my drive C: is almost full and runs slower than my new drive G: I want to get TrackIr5 to recognise my drive G: FSX.I have TrackIR5 software installed on drive G: and registry entry is correct for FSX on drive G:.My IL2 on drive G: is recognised OK.The Windows Simconect folders were removed and new ones installed when FSX was repaired (i.e reinstalled on drive C:)and the service packs reinstalled. So I am not sure if the new install of FSX on C: drive or the new Simconnect files got it working there.
Is there an FSX file I can copy from my C: drive FSX install across to my FSX G: drive that can get TrackIR5 working there ?
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Glenn

Hi Vincent,
I deleted the 3 X86 folders within the SXS folder, simconnect 60905, 61242 and 61249.

As I also had other faults, i.e, Captain Sim gauges and the menu bar not displaying anything but FSUIPC, it is difficult to say what I did which may have cured things.
All I can recommend is to totally clean out any reference to FSX and associated add-ons. Checking the application data folders and the registry also.
I hope this helps
