TrackIR 5 and Glasses

Post by tazmo8448 »

When I use TrkIR5 with the standard clip on the system I have noticed a faint red dot just below the green dots (if you will) on both the 4 and 5 software and after running it in complete darkness it dawned on me that my reading glasses was the culprit. I mostly do flight sims and IL-2 in particular and noticed in flight that the head movement was erratic and sometimes down right unplayable with my sight being stuck in various posistions. I could shake my head it it would re-set briefly but continue to change where I was looking. I would have to keep my finger on the center button... I have win7 x64 hm prem and set the compatibility mode to windows7 and that worked in the game--- one time-- but the next time I played it again the same issues popped up. So...is it the glasses or is it the triple buffering or both that I have read on this forum?

Triple buffering causes TrackIR to error and crash when you try to start it. Tracking issues are likely due to the glasses. In TrackIR 5.x software, you can go to advanced settings - camera and increase your filtering threshold slowly to see if the glasses can be filtered out.

Alternatively, this is a situation that is generally ideal for the TrackClip Pro to solve.
