Star Citizen
Star Citizen
Hi,
I'm writing this post just for the good people at Natural Point to be aware of this project from Chris Roberts which is the creator of the Wing Commander series and Privateer.
http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/
As a long and a very happy user of TrackIR I cannot conceive that any new flight sim or space sim without having support of TrackIR.
There's already a thread in Star Citizen forum asking for TrackIR support.
http://www.robertsspaceindustries.com/f ... r-citizen/
Thanks

Re: Star Citizen
Hi Von,
We're definitely tracking Star Citizen with interest. We'd love have TrackIR integrated and would be happy to support Chris in any way necessary. It's very early, of course, but I love the concept he's revealed and hope he's super successful in his funding phase.

Just got word from a Dev in a live-chat (on the above mentioned website)
--> "Yes to TrackIR"
He was pretty sure, that "...Chris has confirmed that one".
Now it is up to you guys.
(i have the name of the Dev, just in case you need it)

Saw that a bit ago, Bran. Yay for them, yay for space simmers. I have an email out trying to round up the best contact for sending over the SDK.

Re: Star Citizen
Any news on this? I cant fund STar citizen without TrackIR support. People talk about Oculus Rift a lot, They are not aware that an integrated Gyro lacks the percision of the IR tracking.

Re: Star Citizen
Seth is the one who keeps track of these things and he is at GDC this week. When he gets back we'll be able to let you know the status of TrackIR support in Star Citizen.

Re: Star Citizen
Based on the Kickstarter stretch goal, it definitely appears that TrackIR support is on their roadmap. I've reached out to Chris and his team, offering SDK facilitation and all of that, and haven't heard back yet. It's early enough in the process that I wouldn't anticipate that major dev work is being done on input device integration.
