Game compatibility

Post by KyleDOT »

Hi, I'm looking into buying the TrackIR 5 and I saw the list of enhanced games and I was wondering if other games were compatible that weren't 'enhanced' E.g. Play Battlefield 2, Minecraft, Borderlands 2, etc. I understand that this may cause a bit more problems, but I don't want to buy something just for two or three games.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, I feel this is the most suited area.

Hi Kyle,

There are some titles that can be used alongside TrackIR via mouse emulation, but this isn't considered official support and is usually quite limited when it does work. Even when functioning pretty well, mouse emulation generally acts as a quasi-mouse-replacement, in that it doesn't usually provide independent view control.

Thank you, so the mouse emulation is where the TrackIR replaces the mouse?

Yep! It's not a wholesale mouse replacement in that mode, as the implementation is somewhat limited by the way the developer supports the mouse. So it's hit or miss, but some have gotten a lot of mileage out of it! :-)
