Can't get track ir5 working in FSX

Have been using Tir for over a year and really like it. Had to re-install FSX and ran the sp1 update patch as per track IR instructions. I can launch the track ir software and it works fine. But launch the flight sim and it stops working. I get both green lights but no motion. Have reinstalled and am at a loss as to what to do next.

Thank you for providing me with the solution you have found for this issue. With FSX when you uninstall the simulation you must manually uninstall service packs and accelerator packs or it will result in a corrupt FSX install.
