TrackIR software is already running **ERROR**

After setting the camera and minimizing the program area, I start FSX. To make in flight changes to the TrackIR, I exit FSX and return to the TrackIR icon and click it. I then get this warning: “Another instance of TrackIR software is already running,” and the software won't load. I have to log out/shut down the computer to get the program started again. Any suggestions please?

Hello,

Thank you for posting on the forums. TrackIR will minimize to the system tray when a game is launched. If you right click the system tray icon an option to maximize is available.

Thanks Dustin, but I right click on the TrackIR icon and there is no 'minimize' command in Windows 7 Ultimate. I can place the icon on the taskbar and it still will not load the software after it is used in a simulation game, without having to log off and restart Windows 7 first. It's a pain, but a minor nuisance when compared to the fun having the TrackIR aboard. It's probably an issue with the registry after the installer downloaded the software. I'll figure it out, thanks again!

I have provided a screen capture of the TrackIR icon in the system tray. Please let me know if you are seeing the same icon and have right clicked on this icon.

Thanks Dustin for your interest in my problem. But I believe it to be a Microsoft issue and not a TrackIR, after more study. I can minimize the software link and 'pin' it to the taskbar but I still get the error message every time I exit FSX and try to tweek the TrackIR. It would be nice if I could access the software directly from FSX or any other programs via a Hot key or a tab button. Will that become a reality someday? In the meantime, enjoying your product. Kick myself for the years I sim'd without it.

I have the same problem in that after a session with IL2 the TrackIR 5 window no longer appears, I have the TrIR icon pinned to the task bar, but with the only 'right click' option to open the program, but it will not open as it says it is already running, but does not show in Windows Task Manager.

Hello Wavetop,

It will often minimize down to the bottom right corner next to the date and time. That is where you should be able to right-click to minimize or maximize the TrackIR software. What I did was adjust the options so it does not minimize unless I select the option to do so. If you click the TIR icon in the software and select "options" you will be able to select/deselect the minimize to system tray option.

Thanks very much, that gives me the control I need. I lost the use of Track IR when I changed computers a while ago, USB ports weren't compatable, now upgraded hardware again and nice to get it back, forgot how good it is.
