Trackir 5 range decreased since update

Hi, I use Trackir 5 for flight sims in my loungeroom on a HDTV. I`m aware the max range is about 150cm though I had no trouble (and green LED`s) at about 200cm. 2 days ago I updated to the latest software 5.2.2 (not sure what version I had before) and now I am unable to use TrackIR at 200cm and have to move within 150cm. I only updated (including the USB portion) because I had a couple of freezes.
I also just use the clip.
What has caused this?
I will now try reverting to older drivers.

I haven't heard of anyone experiencing a loss in tracking distance. I will set up a few tests here and see if I can replicate the issue.

Did you check the camera display in TrackIR's software? Is there any light interference? There is a chance that your light threshold and IR brightness in the advanced settings section were reset when you updated. I would suggest increasing the IR brightness and light threshold to see if you can regain your tracking ability at 200cm.

I will post here if I can find the issue and a solution for it. Please keep me updated on anything you figure out or change on your end.

Thanks for the quick response. I`ve got it back though.
I tried fiddling with brightness and threshold though default was best.
I then removed 5.2.2 Final and installed 4.2.039 Final and voila, back to 200cm. Don`t know what the latest driver does to cause this but the previous final works better for me, otherwise it`s like sitting too close to a fireplace.
I read in another post about disabling power management for USB`s in another thread, so iv`e done that and it might help with the odd freeze.
I would like to also mention that tracker 5 has been a great investment and has given me several good years and greatly enhanced my flying experience.

Hey Mike, just a bit of additional info.
I checked the camera settings and I`m sure they are different on 4. final to 5. final.
On 4. Final the light filter threshold is set at 108 while from memory 5. final was set at 150 (default) and the IR brightness on 4. final is max at 15 tho I forget 5. final`s setting (guess default too).
I`m using a profile I downloaded from ROF and I don`t know why 5. final would`nt keep the same settings as 4. final and even the default profile for 4. final has these same settings as the ROF profile.
Anyway It`s working fine now and I prefer flying to fiddling. Hope this helps and thnx again for your support.
