Issues with TrackIR 5

Up until yesterday everything was working fine. I had multiple profiles for different games and never had any issues with the software itself. I was playing multiple games daily.

Yesterday when I launched TrackIR software all of my profiles got deleted and the lights would not turn on. After closing and reopening a few times the issue seemed to be fixed, however I could not save any new profiles that I have made. I really didn't have much time so I stopped toying around and thought that it was some kind of a bug that will be fixed after rebooting.

Today I tried launching the software again only to get the same issue with profiles and lights not turning on. I uninstalled the software and downloaded the latest version from the website and installed it. It seems to be working now, however the profiles are still not saving.

I found out that the issue with profile saving seems to be when the profile has : (colon) symbol in it.
If you try and make a profile named DCS: A-10C then there will be this weird DCS file created in both profile folder and the main TrackIR folder and everything that was after the colon symbol will be ignored. You can make changes in the software and save the profile, however after closing and relaunching it the profile will not be there.

So what happened? I don't remember updating my TrackIR software yesterday. The only thing that I updated yesterday was Java. Could that be what caused this whole issue?

maybe ,
1. uac user accaunt control has been turned off or changed .
2. install as administrator and or run as asministrator.
3. registry problems , (malware, virus ) .
4. your system is failing , overheating , hhd failing ,.....
5. dcs a10c is a existing preset on trackir software , so i would not name it like that.
sorry , i would clean out pc and use the administrator thing.

I'd like to thank caseystef for their possible solutions and add one more. I would suggest deleting the Settings.XML file, restarting the TrackIR software before trying to create a new profile.
