Hi, Adler.

To the second part of your question: Must create a really dead zone! ;-))

Edit points 0,2,5,10 on x and y axis have to be set on speed "0". That works for me at least...

Best wishes

Keep getting mouse emulation mode

Post by puzzled »

I've looked at the messages here and think that I understand how TIR is supposed to interact with FB, but I still have a problem. I set up my FB profile, made sure to save it in enhanced mode, and it autoloads into FB okay, but only in mouse emulation mode. I mapped the modes key to F10 since F8 is already used in FB, but nothing happens when I hit it (I have repeatedly dropped into windows to see what the mode is in TIR). The only way I can change modes is to manually change in TIR while FB is already up, but this doesn't seem to make any apparent difference when I go back into the game.

I am using 2.11 of the NP software and FB 1.1. The other key mapping seems to work okay, so this is very frustrating and any suggestions will be appreciated.

Also (and this may be related to being in mouse emulatiion mode), I've found that it's very difficult to keep my orientatiion even after TIR has been centered. I am using Deadzone and have played with custom settings as well, but I have a lot of trouble keeping things in forward view because of inadvertent head turns, etc. Is that just one of those things or what? Thanks.

Hi, Adler!

To the first part of your question: Not quite sure about that, had the same problem. Solved it by reserving (hope it's the right vocabular as I'm German) F5 to F8 only for Track-IR, which means I mapped the games functions from F5 to F8 to other keys (f. ex. joystick keys).

Perhaps in the meantime the problem is solved with the function "trap key" in the key settings of Track-IR...

Try both possibilities...

Good luck! And have a look at www.sturmovik.de !

~S! Adler,

I had similar problems + if I loaded TrackIR BEFORE IL2FB, my computer froze!! Solution? upgraded to 2.11. Now I can load TrackIR first.

For some reason, if you load IL2FB before you load (or bootup) TrackIR, the TrackIR just does not work properly.

BOOT, LOAD, STARTUP (Not sure how to say this) TrackIR BEFORE you BOOT, LOAD, STARTUP IL2FB.

Now, here's the serious test...after you have everything running, select the map. With the map displayed, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO LOOK AROUND THE SCENERY IN ENHANCED or ABSOLUTE MODE! If the view is frozen, you are in mouse emulation mode.

Believe me, when TrackIR is properly working in IL2FB, it is a quantum leap in SA! (For the longest, I was flying in a vastly degraded mode thinking it was correct, because I loaded IL2FB first.)

The newest Saitek drivers will allow you to program your function keys (or any key for that matter) by using the built in programming.

Just assign function keys to the TrackIR functions as you desire in the TrackIR Window.

Then you can bring up your X-45 profile (look at the little icon...lower right of window...in the task tray) and click it. You can then select a graphic representation of the throttle or stick. Point/click the button you want to program and select the function keys you selected in the TrackIR window!!

This is a simplistic answer but it will point you in the right direction. www.simhq.com has a Saitek help group that can give you indepth programming info here:
