MS Surface Pro 3 compatibility

Post by Barriew »

Hi. I have been attempting to set up a SmartNav 4 on a new MS Surface Pro 3. The SmartNav software installs and runs OK, but the when the SmartNav itself is connected it doesn't work. The circle of red lights on the front flashes on and off but the camera is not recognised. The unit works fine on my laptop. I'm wondering if it's an issue with the low power USB port on the Surface Pro, but am not sure. Does anyone have any comments or advice?

Barriew,

I would suggest swapping out the USB cable. If that doesn't do the trick than the USB port doesn't provide enough power and a powered hub might be a viable option. We still don't have official support for tablets at this time, but to me it sounds like a simple low power issue.
