RAM usage of Trackir 4

Post by Scott »

Hi there !

I used TRackIR 4 for years now, without problems. But changing the PC and there with
the OC,from Vista 64 to W8.1 64 and now using P3Dv2.5 instead of FSX.TrackIR started to
"collect" RAM while it is tracking.Within a few minutes the RAM Usage is up to 2 GB.Shortly after TrackIR freezes.
I am using the "newest" driver which made my TRackIR 4 a TrackIR5 iconwise.
Any ideas? Sorry for my english.

Hello Scott,

I would like you to remove and re-install the software to see if this is just a corruption during install. I have had the TrackIR freeze and the TrackIR hog ram, but not at the same time.

Hello Mike !

Excuse my late answer, but it did not appear again,TILL NOW.
But this time I figured out, when it exactly appears.
It must be tracking, means the view is moving, and it only starts in the second, where the
Multiplayer session is connected.Nothing happens offline.

Btw.I did a reinstall before.

Hi Mike !

I forgot to mention,when I disconnect from Multiplayer,TrackIR still eats RAM( 4 seconds for 10 MB )
After restart P3D, everything is back normal.TrackIR levels out at 37MB.

Scott,

Does it still do it if you go into the Task Manager and increase TrackIR's priority?

Scott,

I want you to test an older version of the software. Just to eliminate it as a possibility. Please remove the software and drivers you have installed. Reboot the machine and then download and install http://media.naturalpoint.com/software/ ... .Final.exe. Then test it out again.

Hello mike!

Couldn't get the software from the link running.Reverted to version 4.2.039 and got that working, but still running out of memory ,when in Multiplayer. No matter which "priority".

Scott,

If you couldn't get the version 5 software from that link running then there is a bigger problem on your PC. I would like you to try again, and if it will not install I would like you to create a ticket with me at help.naturalpoint.com.

Hi Mike !

Got the new software to work, but still the same issue.
Heard from friends, they have the same problem. But they didn't see ,that it was the RAM usage, which caused TrackIR to freeze.
So any ideas,Mike? Would be nice.

Scott
