TrackIR pan stutter/jitter/judder = LOW USB POLLING RATE???

I bought a TrackIR 5 with hat clip to use with flight sims, mainly DCS.

In game, I get excellent frame rates and everything is smooth until I start panning the view around with TrackIR and everything becomes a jittery/juddery/stuttering mess. As soon as I stop moving the view, everything smooths out and works great again.

I have tried all the settings in TrackIR, made sure I'm getting a good "picture" between the camera and sensors, updated and tested all video drivers, done bios tweaks, optimized SSDs, changed game settings, and about a hundred other things none of which worked.

On a whim I decided to test the TrackIR polling rate (sample rate) using mouse rate tracker and TrackIR mouse emulation. It's only reporting in aroudn 50-60hz, which seems awfully low for a product advertised at 120fps/9ms response time.

I'm thinking this is my problem - can you please advise?
