Hello:

I am sure we can get to the bottom of this. Did our software prompt you to install the DLL when first installed? Did it do that successfully? If not, I can post the manual instructions to place the DLL. Does the cursor move around normally in Windows (meaning that it is tracking well)? Did you hit the Mode Hotkey (f8 by default) to change into MSFS Mode?

Let me know and I can offer more suggestions.

It works fine in windows
I did hit the F8 key
I have also checked the fs2002 file and the dll files are where they should be
Thank for your help with this

Dan77 in almost all instances you may need to uninstall FS2002 (I know a pain if you have a lot of planes/scenery) and do a clean nstall of FS2002 and then install the TIR softwear, it will work then.

This promblem happens to about 1 in 5 FS2002 users and TIR and Jim and the TIR guys have tried to nail it down but its been a tricky one, I was lucky the first time I installed TIR my FS2002 ran fine with it, but when I re formated and moved my FS2002 dir back to my clean OS it would take the hook to get TIR working and I had to go down this path.

Another thing you could do if Jim cant get it going for you is wait a week maybe 2 for version 2,0 to come out and try that, it may work.

Once you have it working in FS2002 you are going to be blown away, especially if you fly open cockpit planes like the Stearman or Ultralights, also make sure that any custom planes you load into FS2002 have good virtual cockpits as they will enhance your TIR experince too.

Good luck

Hello:

Hotdognz has the right idea. For some strange reason if users have other add ons installed before us it tends not to work. There is something easier to try than a complete reinstall and I have been told that it does fix it. Just copy and rename your Modules folder, then delete all non standard modules from the actual Modules folder, except for trackIR.DLL (I think that you can remove them all, even the default ones) , then see if it works. Add the add on modules back in and it should still work.

Folks,

I've just been around this scenario with FS2002, and found another "fix" I haven't seen posted here yet - hope this may help.

I tried the complete re-install of FS2002 followed by a re-install of Natural Point, but still no joy.

Searching around in my FS2002 installation, I found the trackir.dll in the Modules folder as described - but also found a second trackir.dll in the main FS2002 folder.

I deleted this second file frrom the main folder and voila! WOW time in virtual cockpit mode.

i had the same problem once.
I also had two trackir.dll files. one in the main folder one in the modules folder. After deleting the one in the main folder it did work.

S!
Thanks guys! After 2 hours of frustration, I came online here to read, and then found not one but three trackir.dll files in flightsim:

One in modules, one in models, and one in the root.

So unless someone admits to four, I take the cake!

Life is good again and amen to "WOW time in virtual cockpit mode".
