Game list update unavailable

Hello,

I keep getting the message :
An error occurred while contacting the update server.

when I try to check for game updates. I am trying to get the game Elite Dangerous in the Titles list.
I downloaded the file game-support-files-20111116.zip but it didn't help.

Is anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what I should do to solve this issue?

I have just tested the Check for Game Updates feature on three separate PCs, and it is working at this moment. Would you please try again and let me know the result?

It won't work for me, don't know what's wrong, I still get the message. Tried re install but that didn't solve it either.
Tried to run the track ir on admin as well but I get the same result

Thanks for looking into my problem.

I tried again but same result occured.

I tried installing TIR again making sure to be as administrator (using Windows 7). It didn't solve my issue.
Everything else works fine but the check for game updates. It seems to keeps telling me it can't reach the server. Is there a possibility my router might be blocking communication with your server? I'll look into it.

I haven't tried either to install a previous TIR software. I'll try that and let you know.

Hello Ayaati,

It is possible that a firewall or anti-virus software could be blocking the update. I would suggest checking your security settings and see if that is the problem. Are you running TrackIR as an administrator when attempting to do the update?

My problem wasn't from firewall or anti virus software, without any of the two, it still wouldn't let me update the list.

Then your test made me think of something. I went and look for my old netbook which runs on Windows 7 as well. I installed TIR and the game update worked.
I just had to move the correct files from one computer to another.

Now on my regular computer when I try to check the game list, it says the game list is up to date. So I guess it's working now or at least I have a back up way of doing the update.

I reinstalled Track IR version 5.4.2.27545 and I have exactly the same problem.

When I try check for games update, I get "An error occured while contacting the update server."
When I check for software updates "We were unable to detect the product you are using. "

It is not a firewall or antivirus problem. (Both are deactivated.)

I removed and reinstalled the software, and changed USB port.
The games list seems rather old (no Wings over Flanders Fields, Wings over the Reich of Il-2 Battle of Stalingrad)

Could anyone help, please ?e ?

After restarting the software again, maybe for the 30th time, suddenly, there was an update tab in the upper right corner (it had never shown up before).
I clicked on it and at last the games list updated.
Since then, the "check for games update in the upper left corner works !
I have no clue as to what solved the problem.
