position in motive and unity

Post by chobitsfan »

unity 2018.3.5f1
motive 2.0.2
unity plug-in 1.2

When I move a rigid body toward positive X in motive, it move toward negative X in unity. Y axis and Z axis movement is correct. Did I miss something? Thank you very much

Hello chobitsfan,

Nice to meet someone else who knows Chobits :-)

It is hard to say why your x-axis movement is incorrect while the others are not. It would be best if you could reach out to Support to provide a short recording of what you are seeing, along with screenshots showing all of your Motive Streaming settings.
If you could provide a take (.tak) from Motive displaying your rigid body tracking, that would also be useful in troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Steven

Hi chobitsfan,

I wanted to post an update here as I found some more information regarding what you are seeing.
It turns out that Unity uses a Y-Up Left Hand coordinate system while Motive utilizes a Y-Up Right Hand system. To convert from one system to the other requires exactly what you are seeing; x becomes -x.

From this, it sounds like what you are seeing is completely normal and expected.

Cheers!
Steven
