No mouselook in virtual cockpit?!

I just bought FS2004 and was planing to buy Track IR to use with it and also with IL-2 Sturmovik.
Well, I have no problem using mouselook in the Virtual Cockpit in IL-2 so I'm quite sure TrackIR will work with it but in FS2004 Virtual Cockpit just doesnt work for me so I guess TrackIR wont work either.
Now I'm reading here that the software that comes with TrackIr will make it work. Is that it then?

FS2004 is trackir enabled and doesn't need any other software other than the basic trackir 3.x

just run the trackir exe and then run FS. The FS experience will never be better! (virtual cockpit that is).
