Where to download Motive Skeletons?

Post by Fabio »

Hello,

i am rigging a character to drive by Motive, and I want to use a skeleton that is identical to the one used by Motive.
Where do I can download those skeletons, in FBX or other formats?

Thank you

Hello Fabio,

Thank you for sharing your skeleton question here.
While it is possible to select different marker configurations in Motive, the skeleton structure cannot be changed.

Typically, retargeting to character skeletons would be done in an external software such as MotionBuilder. This software contains the tools to help animate a second skeleton from a source that does not exactly match. If you export to FBX Binary, this can be done using a bone naming convention that matches standard for those applications.

Best,
Steven

Sorry, i meant I need to rig in Blender to use it in Unreal, driven by Motive, so I need the motive skeleton to replicate it exactly.
Can it be downloaded?

My bad, what I meant is that I need to rig a character in Blender, import in Unreal and drive it by Motive, so I need the structure of the skeleton in Unreal to match the one in Motive. That's why I am searching for the one used in Motive, to import it in Blender and apply on my character.

Thanks Fabio,

Your best bet would be to export an FBX from Motive. The FBX should be compatible with Blender, and will contain the entire skeleton.

Cheers,
Steven
