Track IR + F1C 3Dconfig = glacial pc

That's the rate at which it progresses, not its temperature.

If I don't disable TrackIR software before running the 3D Config for F1 C 99-02, the config program slows to a crawl and takes up to 20 minutes to do what otherwise occurs in a matter of seconds.

Is this a known issue and are there any solutions to this "effect"?

Sorry if this has been addressed already, I could find no mention of it.

Edit: I'm running the latest Track IR drivers ( .025) with vector expansion. Also: 6800 GT, Audigy 2zs, AMD 3400+. The same thing happened on my old rig which had different mobo,vid and cpu.

Yes, please don not run the 3D config .exe for any EA race game while TrackIR software is running. I have heard of this being the case previously and experienced it once myself. Just be safe and leave TrackIR off until you are actually ready to play.
