esync 2 and NI-DAQ sync - graph disappear when recording and exported data are lists of 0

Post by cxu413 »

Hello,

I was trying to connect a NI DAQ and synchronise the data from the mocap system and some accelerometers connected to the DAQ device.

I followed every step shown in the instruction here at https://docs.optitrack.com/movement-sci ... -daq-setup

Cable wiring:
I wired the first output of esync2 to the first terminal of the DAQ box.
The esync2 is connected to the ethernet switch and also powered by it.

In Motive:
Device pane:
The terminal type I selected is “ NRSE” (I have tried others too but still not working)
Both the DAQ channel and the DAQ device are enabled in Motive.

In the DAQ property pane:
Trigger sync is selected to “Device”
Trigger terminal: the first one on the DAQ box, which is PXI1Slot2/ai0

Esync2 preperty pane:
Sync input setting: Source as “Internal clock”
Enable Output1,
Type: “Recording gate”
Priority: Normal
Recording triggering, trigger source as “Software”
Reference clock sync: Off

The problem is that the graph view shows the data fine, but every time I click the record button, the graph disappears, and when I export the data to .CSV format, it shows a list of 0 data for the channel I enabled.

But when the trigger sync is selected to “None” which means the esync2 is not involved to the sync process, the data is recording properly (but not synchronised, obviously)

The DAQ we are using is among the unverified device: NIDAQ PXIe-4302
The accelerometers model: Model 4000A & 4001A Accelerometer (spec sheet: https://www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/418/ ... 710209.pdf)

I have no idea what caused this. If I did everything properly, is this because our DAQ device is not supported? (it can be detected properly tho).

Does anyone have any clue about this? Thanks!
