Motive 3.1.0 Beta 3 is now available

Motive 3.1 adds new features and enhances existing capabilities to make data capture and post-production better for everyone.

The new Trained Markersets enables users to track virtually anything they can put a marker on. Motive 3.1 supports all OptiTrack cameras (including USB cameras), 6 rigid body skeletons, and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor fusion which comes with many quality of life improvements. Simplify Continuous Calibration using data available on the Info Pane, including a new Bumped Camera feature that allows Motive to correct the position of a camera after it’s been moved. Additional changes to the 3D viewport, log pane, graphing, and more give users more power at their fingertips.

  • Added a property to control how quickly sensor fusion corrects to optical rotation.
  • Changed the IMU alignment process into a state that waits until enough samples are gathered to make setup easier.
  • Simplified the Auto-Configure option to just run Auto-Pair, then Align.
  • Added a popup when choosing the Active Tag options that perform an algorithm in Edit Mode to prevent confusion.
  • Added improvements to sensor fused rigid body tracking when IMU data drops for 30 or more frames.
  • Added the ability to get/set asset properties in the Motive API.
  • Turned the "Symmetric Bones" option on by default.
  • Change the name of "Stick Skeleton Mesh" to "Skeletal Mesh" in the FBX Binary exporter.
  • Added a streaming option for Unreal Engine bone naming conventions.

Requires a Security Key and license valid through December 13, 2023 (check license status)

A Security Key device is now required instead of the previous Hardware Key.
Licenses now exclusively either work with Motive 3.X+ or Motive 2.X (and earlier).
