Hello John1086,

Please check whether the SmartNav device is being recognized in Device Manager. Does it show up in the list of devices, or is there an unknown device listed there?

Kind Regards,

Hi Jillian. It does show up in the list of devices. I've opened the properties from there and it says 'the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)'. It says to 'click update driver', which I did, but 'Windows could not find drivers for the device'. Does that help?

I have just updated to Windows 11on one of my computers (I have 2 - 1 wheelchair, 1bed). Something very strange happened : Smartnav works fine BUT the cursor is invisible.....it shows if a standard mouse is plugged in a spare USB port - but I lose a USB port. Has anyone encountered this problem ?

If your having issues with driver software for snartnav4, I attempted the download of the 5.3.0 software for the TrackIR 5 from the trackIR website and it immediately recognized and installed the IR reader usb device Smartnav4 with no issues. Our son can now use his new laptop with Windows11. Much easier than I thought. Hope this helps others.

Hi

Long time smartnav USER ever since they look like thisImage still am scared for when my last hardware dies
So I am sure the track if can be converted into smart nav
I have seen people can do it but you need the old driver for track or = OptiTrack_1.1.034.exe

Is there a way to aquire this?

Thanks

Hello Shane,

While the TrackIR can be used to move the mouse cursor around on the screen, it is not compatible with dwell click software or ability switches and it only works while it is the active program. You may wish to check out this head tracker: https://us.tobiidynavox.com/. We have no connection with this company, but their product may be worth investigating to see if it meets your needs.

We also have a forum thread where several users have discussed alternative options. Please note that there are multiple pages in this thread.
