How to tighten up the mount

Post by krissilver »

Hello,

I've been having a few issues with the TrackIR 5, and I'm finally fed up and working on fixing them.

First up was putting some better reflective tape on the hat clip, worked like a charm. Functions much better.

My next project is the actual mount that holds the receiver/light to the top of my monitor. The mount is floppy, and doesn't hold up the camera's weight.

Any advice on how I can tighten up the bracket/mount, or get it to stay in place better once I point it precisely where I want it?.

Hello krissilver,

Do you already have the "arms" of the mount extended completely out to the sides, and the "leg" going all the way down? The mount is designed to be adjustable to fit a variety of monitor widths. In some cases, especially for customers who have very thin monitors, they have use a piece of foam between the monitor and the stand to provide a better fit. We also sell the mounts separately if you think yours is too worn out: https://www.trackir.com/accessories/.

I also found some Reddit posts with suggestions on alternative mounting methods:

Let me know if you have any other questions.
