5.5 messed up my trackir
So the new update just hosed my trackir 4, No device connected, I read in another topic from awhile ago to update the driver manually through device manager, seemed to recognized the device but still does not work, when you open the software nothing happens. To make things worse going back to the old 5.4 does not work now either. So what now?

Hello MrSpeaker,
Are you getting a specific error when running 5.4.2? I would suggest uninstalling any version of TrackIR that you currently have installed. Unplug the TrackIR and then try reinstalling 5.4.2. Copied from my other post for the possible benefit of MrSpeaker.
I was prompted to upgrade my TrackIR software from 5.4.2 to 5.5.2 today.
After installing TrackIR 5.5.2 my TrackIR device stopped working. The software launched without error but the Camera Tracking Status LED in the bottom right does not glow yellow.
If I completely uninstall 5.5.2 and revert to 5.4.2 it initially didn't work, but on checking Device Manager the TrackIR device was listed as "Other" rather than as a TrackIR. A quick "Update Driver" / "Browser my computer for drivers" / and navigating to "C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\USB Drivers x64" and reinstalling the drivers resumed normal function.

I too received an update notification about 5.5.2. The new version correctly identifies my TrackIR 4 in the UI, but it does not activate it. Re-installing 5.4.2 solves the problem. I am using the latest version of Windows 11 Pro.

At this time, we recommend that TrackIR 4 users continue using version 5.4.2. The TrackIR 4 has been retired for a long time, and we cannot guarantee that any future updates will work with that model.
