Trackir Probleman in games!

Post by jjpupo »

I have the following problem:

When I play, my Trackir 5 stutters, even with the game running at 60 FPS and without any FPS drops. When I monitor the frame time, there is no oscillation in the timeline. The strangest thing is that it happens at some moments, and at others it doesn't. I can't identify the cause. For example, in ETS2, I'm on a trip and everything is normal. Suddenly, I move my head to one side and the stutters are there. Soon after, I move again and everything is smooth and perfect. At another moment, the stutters appear again. Could someone help?

My PC:

Ryzen 5 5600X
RTX 2070
16GB DDR4 4600mhz
SSD 1T

Hello jjpupo,

In the TrackIR program, try changing the setting so that you can see Camera View. When the problem happens, is there any change or anomaly on this window? For example, do any of the dots turn red or change shape? Is the TrackIR connected directly to a USB port on the motherboard, or through a USB hub or adapter? Are you using the TrackClip or the TrackClip Pro? If you are using the TrackClip Pro, can you test with the TrackClip to see if the problem persists?

The camera view doesn't show red dots, but there is some deformation in the green dot, small but there and not always. It is connected to a motherboard, I use the trackclip (the one that you put on the cap).

Hello jjpupo,

Please inspect the surface of the TrackIR camera. Are there any scratches on the front of the camera? If so, this can cause issues with how the LEDs or reflectors are detected, and that can result in flickering.

It remains the same, even after cleaning and nothing obstructing the camera's view, I don't know, it seems to be something related to synchronization..... It works perfectly and then the stutters, then normal again and when I least expect it new stutters.... I believe that the deformations I mentioned are "normal"

Hello jjpupo,

Do you see the same stutters when using the default profiles that come with the TrackIR software? Does adjusting the speed and smoothing have an effect? For example, what happens if you set speed to 1 and smoothing to 10?

Hello jjpupo,

Is there any pattern to when the stutters begin or how long the program runs perfectly before the stutters happen? For example, do you only notice the stutter when your head is turned all the way to one side?

I am also wondering if there is another device connected that may be causing a sporadic conflict or slow down on the internal USB hub. Have you tried using different USB ports on your computer? Have you changed the settings for the USB root hubs in Device Manager to ensure they are not turning off the USB ports to save power?

Are you able to test the TrackIR on a different computer?

The stuttering happens randomly, there is no apparent reason for it to happen. But when it happens it is when I move my head from side to side. Remember, the game stays at a fixed 60 FPS, the frame time does not move, just a straight line.

As for other peripherals connected to the PC, I have already tested and removed them all, but the stuttering still happens, the X52 Pro, a Logitech 930 headset, a generic webcam and the G29 were connected.....

I can't test it on another PC at the moment, I'll see if I can do it another day, maybe next week....

As for the USB power settings, I believe they are in accordance with the need to never turn off, I think that's it....!!!

Hell jjpupo,

Are you able to upload a video to Youtube and share it here? Then I can share it with our product developers for more feedback.
