Good morning all.
I have had an issue for about 6 months where trackIR once worked... then ceased and fell into the abyss! I used it on P3D and FS2020 without a hitch and then one day, mid flight on MSFS 2020 it just stopped never to recover.
If I go onto track IR (as the single programme) it works, programme moves on screen and i can set sensitivities, press F12 etc. I open the sim (and yes it is to allow track IR)... it just doesn't connect!. The left green light on the sensor is green, and in the trackir programme it works as its moving around on screen... but it just wont connect to the sim?
To confirm its not a sim issue (against P3D, MSFS2020 and MSFS2024) I tried CoD (worked once upon an age)... Nope green light is on left light still on but it wont connect to the game.
I am not a computer buff, but it simply seems the trackir program works, it just cant find the programme / game to connect with (if that makes sense)? This is a me issue I am sure... but how do I switch it on (connect it to the game)?
I scoured the forums and all I can see is the usual make sure its up to date... make sure its on the clipPro... start it before the sim, make sure firewall allows etc... fact is, for some reason one day, mid flight it stopped and has never been able to reconnect.
I left it alone knowing that soon I was soon to update to W11 and MSFS2024... surely doing either of these would restart it...!!! well this week was the week and alas!... nope; with new install TrackIR works (stand alone); MSFS 2024 works (stand alone), CoD works (stand alone)... but TrackIR (with the green light on left and motion working on the App) doesn't work / link to MSFS 2024. All the Hubs have also been checked and are not power saving.... it seems I am missing a simple link somewhere that links the 2!
Everything is the latest update... Any ideas good sirs / maams?

Hello Kn0cker,
The most common reason you may be experiencing this issue is that either the TrackIR software or the game may be starting with Administrative privileges while the other is not. I would make sure that both are starting with or without those privileges (for example, you can right click on the icon to launch each one and select "Run as Administrator").
If TrackIR is working fine on the TrackIR software and other games and it only fails to connect to P3D, you can try resetting the SimConnect library which is used to communicate with the TrackIR server.
Could you check if the files are included in the following installation directory? They are located in these folders:
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\redist\Interface\FSX-SP1\retail\lib
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib
If they already exist, try running the included MSI files to reset them. Once you have done that, reboot the computer, and then run TrackIR as administrator, and then run the game with administrator privileges as well.
Kind Regards,
