Just a question for techies.
I have a A7m266 board and experienced very bad stuttering using TIR. I have recently installed a USB board and now using it with TIR and has improved things greatly.
My question is if I disable my redundant onboard USB (via bios) , would it help performance?, would it make a difference?

Im not sure about your question, but I am running an Asus A7V333 and use all of my USB ports. I have TIR plugged into the mobo and have various things in the other 7 USB ports.
I dont see any kind of problems at all. Only one way to find out.... experiment!
Let us know what happens if you do though.

This is a known issue with VIA chipsets and USB. They have problems maintaining any kind of bandwidth. The IRQ's are jamming up the bus and your graphics card can't get data, that is what is happening as far as we can tell. The USB PCI card will fix it for sure, but too bad you have to get a $20 card for a motherboard that should work.
You can disable the onboard USB controller, but it won't help the performance at this point, if no data is on it then no IRQ's are issued.
