One has a VIA chipset (A7V333) but I have never had issues. I have TIR plugged directly into the mobo.
Works great here.Yeah, it was working great with XP until I upgrade to the P4. I don't think it's a Via chipset problem. XP is looking for a .inf that I can't find. Does the Track IR even have a .inf file?

Are you getting an error or is it just not working?
Have you tested the USB ports with other gear to ensure they work?
Latest mobo drivers?

Latest mobo drivers? Thanks for the reply Charlie. WinXP won't recongize the TrackIR anything other than a "USB Device." It gives me the option to look for a .inf file for the TrackIR driver but I can't find it any where.
Other things will work in my USB ports, for what it's work they are USB 2.0.
I have the standard Intel 875P drivers installed for my mobo.

Of course I have the GX software installed. As soon as I plug in the TrackIR the install wizard says "USB Device" instead of "ECT Naturalpoint Firmware Loader" so it doesn't get to the second "ECT Naturalpoint Tracker." Of course Windows give me the ioption to look for an .inf to manually install drivers but the TrackIR doesn't seem to have one. Thanks for the help!

Re: Installing trackIR in XPpro
I'm having the same problems... WinXP recognizes the new USB device, but can't find the install files (.inf or whatever). I have an Asus board (no VIA). What the heck is going on?????
Re: Installing trackIR in XPpro
Well I've comfirmed that my TrackIR isn't dead. I just installed it on my old system (1.3 Celeron with Via motherboard) without any porblems! Now if I could get it to work on my P4 system Any ideas Halstead or Charlie?
EDIT:
Vegas what kind of motherboard, CPU and OS are you running? I have a 2.6 p4 800mhz FSB with HT enabled with an ABIT IC7 ( Intel 875P chipset) with Windows XP.

Re: Installing trackIR in XPpro
Snake, I've got an Asus P4PE mboard, P4 2.4, 533 frt side bus, 1 gig RAM, and WinXP. Also have a SB live sound card, but I installed the latest drivers (as suggested)... still no dice.
I'm gonna try an install on another computer w/ WinMe to see what happens.
Still don't understand why there isn't a freakin' .INF file!!!
