I got the extension for Tracker, and that is what is plugged into the computer. My problem is that my tower is on the floor, and everytime there is an update, I have to get on my hands and knees and unplug it from the USB connection, do the update, then get back on my hands and knees and plug it back. If I can just plug/unplug it from the monitor itself, I can do the updates from my seat and just reach out and unplug and stay off my knees.

What is USB 1? I have the TIR connected to a USB extension so it can go from the top of the monitor to the tower on the floor. I tried disconnecting it just from the extension, but I found I have to unplug it from the computer itself. Again, my concern is this: if I connect the TIR directly into the USB2 port on my new monitor, will it function?

Well, I hooked up the TIR to my new monitor using the USB 2 connection, and all I got was flashing lights. I hooked it back up to the USB extension, and it worked. So much for that.
