Note to 'Charlie' ; in another area here, you posted a explanation of how the edit points related to speed settings and grouping and locking....it was a detailed explanation, and was what I had been looking all over for since I got this thing. Just want you to know that I really appreciate your taking the time to explain those things, and it unlocked for me the ability to create my own profiles to my liking. Sometimes 'thank you' isn't said enough....but I have read many of your posts trying to help users, and you do a great job of explaining things. So,,,Thank You!
It IS appreciated.Nealg:
Well thank you in return.
Tech support is a thankless job since your always dealing with the people who are unhappy! And since they dropped $130 USD on a unit that they are having problems with, they are normally a bit snappy as well as unhappy.
And seeing as how I don't get paid to do it, I really get to have fun!
Nah, its not bad at all. Just seeing one post of someone saying "IT WORKS NOW!" makes up for all the negativity. I get just as frustrated as everyone else when something of mine doesn't work so I understand how it goes.
Thanks for the kind words and I am glad that my post was able to help you out. Thats what makes all this carpal tunnel I'm developing worth it!!

Woha - wasn't aware that that many people were facing the same/similar problem.
Well, I made some further observations which might help solving the puzzle.

After playing around the settings some more I got curious about the USB 1/2 theory. So I plugged it back to a USB1 port - since it WAS on a USB2 port before - plus I had recently changed my motherboard since the old one was fried for some reason. After re-reinstalling the drivers everyhting went fine again - no stuttering at all. I though - ok, it was the USB port and settled the issue.
Now, I had to unplug my Cougar since something mechanical broke inside of it. After fixing and replugging it into the 4-way USB hub I have the jittyery TrackIR was back!!! Since I didn't change any settings it had to be connected to the recent install of a "new" USB device. And it just was like that. After plugging TrackIR into another port and re-installing the software the jittering was gone. I haven't done further testing wether the previous USB port gone bad but I think that is highly improbable.
My theory is that the new TrackIR software (3.01) doesn't like any other USB device installed "over " (e.g. after) it. For some reason it "wants" to be the last. I checked my Cougar settings to see if I had "polling" on but it wasn't so. I haven't tried 3.03 yet but I will as soon as I have the time. Maybe it's less sensible on other USB devices.
Hope that helps a little...
