Vosxod, here are my observations. I see exactly what you're talking about but it's not a .029b4 issue as .028 does exactly the same thing.

The pitch dead zone extends in a 360 degree circle around the entire plane. If you're wings level it's just above the horizon so if you're looking at your high 9 o'clock and watching a plane dive past you the view will pause in the dead zone and then pick up again as you exit the dead zone downward. The same happens with the pitch axis but the dead zone is a 360 degree circle in the vertical.

This always bothered me also but what I've done is raise the values of the 0, 2, 5 and 10 positions of the pitch and yaw axis higher so they're never at zero. This eliminates the dead zone. I also raised smoothing up to 80. This gives me smooth tracking no matter what my direction of movement is without all the "pauses" as it crosses the axis.

This does eliminate the dead zone in the center of the forward windscreen and gunsight which is the area you're talking about where the two axis intersect. I've always used my POV switch forward view position when doing gunnery. This locks the pitch and yaw axis in forward view while still allowing translation. Effectively this gives me a manual "dead zone" in the windscreen for stable tracking and gunnery.

Hope this helps.
