One thing to try also is disabling the check mark next to "Periodic News Check" under Options in the TrackIR software.

I checked again.... whats actually happening is this:
When I exit (check for news and confirm close checkbox are off), the CPU-load in task manager for the Track-IR.exe goes to 99%. I can exit the application, not by killing it in the task manager, but also by clicking on the close symbol (x in upper right corner) again.
The app then terminates OK.

Btw. It does not matter if I have the checkboxes on or off for this. But even with "Confirm before close" no confirmation dialogue is shown.

So how are you exiting the software when it causes it to hang, and use 99% of system resources?

By clicking on the "close" X in the upper-right hand window. Also happens with "Menue/Exit" I think, but have to verify that later.
"Close to tray" is unchecked.

Yep, I mean the "File/Exit" menue. It happens the same way, regardless if I', just clicking on the "Close Window" Symbol or use the "File/Exit" menu-entry.
