my motherboard is a Asrock Daul-sataII 939 socket board.
I did as you said and updated the BIOS.. so far i haven't seen any of the problems i had been experiencing before i did that... and in a way that means something because i would have expected to see something going wrong by now.
I will give it a few more tests over the next day or so and let you know.

happy to report things are better now, although the bios update wasn't the solution. In the end I discovered the "hotkey centering". Before that i only thought centering could be done by exiting the game and centering the headset using the software and then re-entring the game.
so next time i see the guys head stuck all the way to the right or left i just press the ingame centering tool and it will work properly. I might have to do that a few times but thats no problem at all.
so sorry for wasting your time of sorts.. i wish i had of known about that in-game centering ealier and it might have not have sullied my inital experince with your excellent device.
