Quite a few add ons, all scenery and aircraft
i tried disabling firewall and no difference,
tried loading fsuip4 and it complained that i have the incorrect simconnect running (it loaded before),
tried fsx repair and reload of sp1 and sp2, but no joy. I havent reloaded all of the add ons that were installed before so maybe one of them messed with simconnect in some residual directory from my original install?
is there a patch to get simconnect back on track? i think i saw this in one of the threads but cant remember.

also noticed something strange, when reinstalling sp1 & 2 after repair, sp2 wanted to be unisnstalled first, so before i installed it again i tried fsx and trackir was still dead, but some of my old flight saves were available, then i reinstalled sp2 and trackir was still dead, but the flight saves had disappeared again.

OK, one step to try.

1 - Delete the following file folder

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

2 - Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.

3 - Hopefully this should remedy the issue.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hi

,i have the same Problem as well, my Trackir 4 doesn't work with FSX, but with all other Sims without problems at all.
I have already tryed a lot of things that was propouse on this and in other forums, but without luck.
I got Windows XP Home SP2, Norton 2007 Protection, and the FSX was with SP2 the last Time.

Yesterday, i completely deinstaled the FSX and the Track IR Software and reinstalled all again. FSX was like out of the Box and i installed the last drivers of the TrackIR, but even with all this it was not working, all other Sims flawless.

Any suggestions ? Thanks

Indy

Many new Flight Simulator add-on products connect to Flight Simulator X (FSX) via the new SimConnect Application Programming Interface (API). When you run FSX with an add-on installed, some non-Microsoft firewall and antivirus applications (such as ZoneAlarm) may detect that FSX is attempting to make a network connection and display a dialog asking you to allow or block this connection.

This network connection is necessary for the add-on to connect with FSX. Its a local connection between the add-on and FSX (via a network localhost/127.0.0.1 connection), and does not involve a connection to the Internet. Be assured: FSX is not trying to send personal data about you through the Internet.

Note that Microsoft Windows Firewall will not exhibit this behavior. It will, however, alert you if an add-on is actually trying to access the Internet.

In order for your FSX add-on to work properly with FSX you MUST allow this connection to be made. If you do not allow the connection to be made, the add-on you are trying to run (and all subsequent add-ons that connect to FSX through the SimConnect API) will not work properly.

Some non-Microsoft firewall and antivirus applications will block this "localhost" connection between an add-on and FSX automatically, without any notification. In this case, you must configure the firewall or antivirus application to include both FSX and the add-on (specifically, the fsx.exe file and the add-on's .exe file, if it has one) in the list of trusted exceptions. If this is not done, the add-on will not work properly with FSX. Please refer to the documentation for your specific firewall or antivirus application for details on how to add programs to the list of trusted exceptions.

Hi Vincent, I just reinstalled Windows, and FSX

Track IR worked fine with FSX, and after I installed SP1, then I installed acceleration and it stoped working (no blue light).

It worked fine with acelleration last time, before reinstalling xp.

It is also working fine with IL2 1946 after reinstall.

I have no other add-on's installed in FSX yet.

I tried the fix you gave me on Jan-14 and fsx crashed on startup, could be that i needed to repair acceleration as well which i did not do when i tried this?

System:
FSX, sp1, acceleration
Windows - XP sp3
Antivirus - AVG 7.5.552
Firewall - Windows firewall
anti-spyware - Spybot S&D 1.6.0

Hi Vincent,
I also have tried to reinstall the CD, to replace the folder, and now I am getting a crash on start up. and I cannot use FSX anymore.
Please advise what to do next.
Thanks

Ok I Deleted all three of the folders from C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS:
x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9

x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61242.0_x-ww_35e8ee9a

x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61259.0_x-ww_fb842f5a

Then I ran the repair option on the Acceleration disk.

It seems to be working OK now.

Will post again if I have more problems.

Regards and good luck.
