Correct.
No other apps running, and, as done before, I've run it again in safe mode to check with the same results.
Also again, I just came back from work, and it started up just fine. I'm sure later it will crap out again for whatever reason.
I also spent an hour last night updating all the drivers I could.
TrackIR Application won't start.

system specifications?
Re: TrackIR Application won't start.
XP Home
AMD X2 4400+
2 Gigs
Nvidia 7950GT GPU
I've had nothing new running or active in the background since this started happening. I really don't understand why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't when nothing has changed.

Re: TrackIR Application won't start.
Can you send me a screen shot of the system Device Manager (including the USB section, as well as the profiles folder?
Re: TrackIR Application won't start.
Hmmm. Disabling news updates didn't work, ran fine last night, started her up today and nothing.
Re: TrackIR Application won't start.
I hadn't had my Logitech MX5000 mouse and keyboard software installed, because it was creating problems elsewhere and still sometimes is poorly functional (cool mouse and keyboard, horrible consistency with its software detecting the hardware and enabling its special features....)
Since installing the software, I've rebooted several times and have NOT had issues with TrackIR software not starting (well, actually, it takes 10-15 seconds and a couple of double clicks but it starts).
So, if this holds out, it may have been some type of USB/driver interference (e.g., sometimes keyboard input lagged 5 seconds when first being used after start up).
Thanks for your help, hope i don't have to post again....
