I was just passing through, and found I didn't update this thread - I installed a newer version 5, and it works now as well 5.0.3 - build 6225 the about says - I think it was called: Version 5.0 - Final B

It's working well now, hopefully everything will continue running well.

I am now having the exact same issue as V1VrV2.

I have installed the latest TrackIR V5.0.300b6225 to try and fix the problem.

FSX was working and then boom.. it just stopped.

I have the TrakIR 5.

The only thing I have recently changed is the addition of one scenery file for the Alps and an update of my nVidia drivers to 196.21.

TrackIR works fine in all other programs. DCS, LOMAC, and IL2 1946.

EDIT: Going to try to re-install FSX. Maybe it really is SimConnect on the fritz.

Well, full re-install of FSX and Acceleration and it is still not working. Very frustrated, and about to request an RMA.

What OS are you using?

When you reinstalled FSx, did you also delete the simconnect files, in the WinSXS folder?

OK, I will try that. I will delete everything FSX related.

I took it for granted that the uninstaller would do that.

EDIT:

When I browsed out to this location, I noticed there were 3 instances of this file, each with what looked like a different Version Number, SID or GUID in the folder name. I nuked all 3.

EDIT (again): I found some other tid-bits of SimConnect at c:\windows\winsxs\manifests. I renamed the files with a .OLD extension and moved them out of that folder.

Still not working. Going to try to install Acceleration and see if it works. However, I don't see how this would help.

OK. Acceleration install did not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Did the reinstall replace the simconnect files, in the sxs folder?
