I have the same problem. Good to see Im not the only one.
I thought I was doing something wrong at first.

I contacted my supplier to check if I can get a new one with them.

Hello,

I tried using Pyrodox' workaround for the IR shield by lowering the exposure level. But it works on my laptop but not on my home computer.

I tried it on the laptop because I can't save the settings.xml on my home computer. It wants to change it to .txt all the time.

On the laptop lowering the exposure to 25 worked really great. 50 still had some reflecting dots, but I guess that is because of the distance.

So I copied the settings.xml from my laptop to my home computer assuming it would work just as well on that one. But no success. I even tried lowering the exposure to 1, but than the program did not respond.

Is it possible that the settings.xml from my laptop is not compatible with the trackir installation on my home computer.?

On the laptop I have Windows Vista Business 32 and on the home computer Windows 7 64 b7100.

Thanks

If you are modifying a profile Within a Vista/Win 7 64-bit OS, the saved changes are going to take place in the c:\users\(user name)\appdata\local\virtual store\Programfiles (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5 folder, and not in the standard TrackIR folder
