The mouse feature was the best part of TrackIR because it worked in every game. Without it I can't play fps (i'm paralyzed) and if you remove it completely, I am without any hope of playing the games I love. The v4 software just needs the mouse mode from the version 3 software plugged into it or at replicated.

The ability to use the TrackIR to countrol the mouse, on the desktop, was removed when the SmartNAV product line was released, as it is desgned as a mouse replacement device

Then it won't be very useful in fps that do not support trackir specifically :/

I am in the same situation, C4 quad. I hate that mouse emulation was removed in v4+. I bought a SmartNav to see if it was any better but was worse. I am forced to use it with V3 TrackIR software as that is the only way to play all of my first person shooter games. Would love to upgrade to a TrackIR 5 and a TrackClip Pro, but I'm afraid it won't work with a game unless it's officially supported. The mouse emulation of V3 really needs to be put back into your newer software.
