Ahh, you beat me to it. This doesn't sound related to the known ATI issue, as it only seems to effect XP 32 bit clients specifically related to the OpenGL rendering of the heads up display in the TrackIR software. It would, however, not surprise me in the least if it was a catalyst related issue.
Have you tried updating DirectX? I believe the latest runtime library was releaed 6/10.

Re: CTDs & BSODs with TrackIR 5 and windows 7 64-bit
So after further troubleshooting and running into the error in other system-destroying games (Arma 2 OA on high settings) it looks like the memory was bad -OCZ 8GB ddr3 gold series. Prime95 would intermittently fail in the first 2 minutes on stock voltage/mhz/settings. Replaced it with some corsair 8gb ddr3 1333 and I haven't had the issue yet in any games, and no weird failures in prime95.
What a frustrating issue, no one error pointed to memory. Thanks for all of your help Mike!

Prime95 is a godsend for testing systems. Buggy memory definately sounds like it could be the cause. Glad its all working properly for you now!
