If it is working with all the applications, I would narrow down the issue to CFS. Have you tried a reinstall?

Hello, thanks for the answer. Yes, of course I tried a de-/reinstall, about 4 times by now, using several different drives and install paths, just to be sure.

Are you using the tir_attack_1_6 software. Not required for the newer hardware. Only needed for TrackIR 1 and 2.

You have updated to the latest CFS patch as well...

Hi! No, I don't use TIR-Attack, didn't try it yet, as it doesn't seem to be necessary for other games.
Yes, I use the latest CFS3 Patch but I also tried it with the pure CFS out of the box, the 3.1 patch and the 3.1a patch.
Nothing seems to work.

Some technical details:
I use an Asus A8V Deluxe Mainboard (AGP), an A64-3200, Geforce 6800 Ultra, 1 GB RAM. The Track-IR is connected directly to an USB-Port, not to a Hub.
A pretty much standard setup. As I don't have any problems with the Track-IR function in general, especially not in other games, I doubt that the problem is of a hardware-related nature.

To your other question: I might be able to do that, have to check later today if I can install CFS3 on my laptop. Didn't try yet, because it won't be looking or playing good, but for a test if TIR works that should be enough.

This should be interesting,because the lap HW/SW is totally different from my Game-PC. E.g. I'm running XP-professional, SP2 on the lap and 2k on my Game-PC.
I try tonight and keep you informed.

I ask, as I have seen CFS have issues with chipset and motherboard drivers.

I see. Well, my Mainboard and Chipset are very much standard fare, (VIA Hyperion drivers) nothing exotic.

I tested on my laptop yesterday.... surprise, it works.
So the problem seems to exist on my Gaming machine only.

Check to make sure you have the latest motherboard bios update, and latest Via chipset drivers.

Latest VIA Hyperion I got, I always install them when they come out. Latest Bios probably not, since it works perfectly I don't normally meddle with it. I'll check later.

It would be great if you could give me a list or something of dlls I might check for e.g. the necessary version or something.

I could also send you my system information, e.g. the DirectX Diagnosis and the System Info Diagnosis, if this would help.
