I haven't Voted yet: Read the 360 Degree thread why, I had a question for the Track-IR Coder/s that invovles future sims and this feature.

I do have Three points to consider.

Why Did the Hurricane Bother with a rear view Mirror?

AND or following

How long can you sit in your computer chair and look exactly at your 6?

My Third Point is to do with the zoom feature in FB. When Zoom is out and you look at your six. You see loads of Sky, When zoom is Normal you see a a large seat and some sky, When the zoom is in CLosest, You see A seat.
So Exploiting possible Far view may be part of the equation. A fixed historical rear view zoom.
is needed also. It's all up to Oleg And what he damn well wants you to see. The FW VIiew thread in Olegs Ready room, is another example and will tell you all that you will get a clear response from Oleg about this one in Time.

I agree when people says it's possible. But to be real, For how long in a normal chair can you do it for. Me Personally, it hurts my neck , then my eyes after 30 seconds. Just image with G-Forces. And how do we know that neck strain was a common injury dueing High G and Dog fights.

I vote for the unrestricted views. I will not upgrade the software, other than to beta test, until it is unrestricted.

My advice is to put a check box on the main screen. LIMIT FB VIEW. Then, those who want it limited can limit it. Those who dont, wont.

The level playing field is a bupkiss idea. People who like the 180 view will continue using older drivers. People still host these drivers on the net for those who want it. It will never be level until Oleg's team fixes it themselves.

So to alienate those who like the 180 view is pointless. It kinda annoys us because were stuck with the old drivers.

WOW 72% for 29% against

Im guessing most people like looking straight back and that the 29% who dont probley play online and just want a level playing field which I would support.

I dont see why Oleg just doesnt enable the whole 180 view in the sim for all users and then make a server option for what people percive to be full real with the restricted head movment.

I really dont think that the TIR people should be fixing something Oleg put in the sim via the support for TIR, its Olegs mistake (if thats what you want to call it) so let him fix it.

Regardless on the outcome i won't vote on this poll because i think is totally misplaced.

Where did Naturalpoint gain the right to change the view restrictions in FB on their own account?

That, i would like to know.

Sure they can change their software on their own account, but it should have no effect on FB and its original view restrictions. Unless ofcourse Oleg gave them permission to do it.

This is a terrible place to decide the fate of this game!

This poll should be posted at Ubi forum and elsewhere and those results taken into account as well.

I bet anyone who doesn't have TrackIR would not be too happy to see TrackIR users voting to give themselves an exploit that other users cannot have.

Shame on those who would vote to gain such a cheat!!!

I voted for the unrestricted view. Be honest, it doesn't give much of advantage, unless you like looking at the seat.

All of my play is offline, like the vast majority of people who have bought IL-2/FB. If Oleg weighs in on the subject, by restricting the view in the patch, so be it, but until then I'm using the version of TrackIR with unrestricted view. Ideally, people would be able to use the unrestricted view in single person play, and have the option of limiting the view for online play, but remember most of us don't play online.

There's already a hack going around that will allow people to look through their planes. Give them Linda Blair view and you might as well end all online play.

What do you need to look at the back of your seat for anyways? If it's not an advantage, then you wouldn't be voting for it.

This poll sucks.
You shouldn't have the option to do what the game intentionally prohibits.

I vote to keep the 6 o'clock view. Of several real-life pilots I've talked to (one being my brother) they've all said that looking straight back isn't any more of a problem than in the family car, as long as you don't take g-forces into account. Put it on a toggle and let people be on their honor not to use it online when asked. I do most of my flying offline, though, and I'd prefer to use it in the privacy of my own home.

Suggestion - can we limit this poll to people who have actually purchased the trackir?

This thread is all over the forums, and what stops these anti-trackir whiners from coming here and posting?

As for this bs about not being able to look behind:

Fight Combat by Robert Shaw:

p375

"It is often necessary to turn almost completely around in the seat in either direction to look behind...Restraining straps must be designed and adjusted to allow this freedom of movement"

Shame on those who would vote to gain such a cheat!!!This poll should not be on the UBI forums. It should be right here. To be voted on by people who have a TrackIR. NP is not concered with people who have not bought a TIR. They are concered with supporting the people who support their company by buying a TIR.

If you dont like it, buy a TIR. You have no right to compain here.

Oh, and in response to your other post... post a link to that cheat you speak of. If you cant prove it, then dont speak of it.
