Can you try using the older 4.1.037 software?

Still not working.
Re: TrackIR & FSX Not Connecting (Revisited)
Im having the same problem. My trakir 4 was working great on FSX with the latest software (I love this thing) but now it wont recognize FSX. The software still works fine with my other games. Im not sure but the last thing that happened just before the last time trackir was working I was trying to start a free flight in FSX and as the flight started the game crashed, I believe it was a crash to the desktop not a full reboot. I tried reinstalling the trakir software, and I tried version 4.1 build 34 but neither helped.
I wish there was a manual option in the software to force the software to see specific titles.

Do you have SP1/SP2 installed for FSX?
What OS are you using?

Re: TrackIR & FSX Not Connecting (Revisited)
I am using FSX deluxe edition with acceleration on top of that, so that would put me at SP2 automatically. And I am using Windows XP professional version 2002 sp2.
Re: TrackIR & FSX Not Connecting (Revisited)
I got it to work again. I used the control panel to uninstall acceleration and then deluxe edition. Then I went to the Microsoft games folder and deleted every thing in it (I only had FSX things in there). I also went to the WinSxS folder and deleted the SimConnect folders. Reinstalled deluxe edition and acceleration, and I can finally get the blue light on the tracker. I hope this helps anyone ells with the same problem.

Re: TrackIR & FSX Not Connecting (Revisited)
Vincent, I too have been cursed with this problem. However I believe that I found the fix and it is easier than I was expecting. It seems that anytime that a .dll file is accessed by different programs it has to be the same version. In my Windows\WinSXS folder there were the three folders that each had a copy of simconnect.dll however I noticed that they were all different versions. What I did was find the latest version of the three and copy to the other folders and overwrite the older versions so all three were the same version. Now it seems that everything is working the way it should. I originally removed the two older versions and just left the newest one but some programs wouldn't work any longer. This is a simple fix compared to the ones on this forum and it worked, at least so far and I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hope this helps relieve these problems so others can get back to flying again. fisheye
Re: TrackIR & FSX Not Connecting (Revisited)
I have just bought TrackIR 4:PRO and am having similar problems with no TrackIR response in Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe v 10.0.61355.0, SP1.
I am using TrackIR software v 4.1.037 - Final B. [Versions 5.1 beta 03 and 5.0 Final keep crashing - see separate post at http://preview.alturl.com/zq6i2]. The software starts fine and works as expected with IL-2 1946 [apart from occasionally getting stuck looking at the bottom right of the cockpit, which I solve with either the F9 key or by covering the TrackIR camera for a few seconds] but not FSX.
After trawling these forums I tried without success:
- Launching TrackIR before launcinng FSX, and vice-versa.
- A different USB.
- Running both applications as a user with admin privileges (there is no option to "run as admin" only "run as user xyz"
- Checking for duplicate Simconnect.dll files (only the one, for FSX).
The TrackIR profile for FSX is set to "flight".
I really really really do not want to do a clean install, all those WOAI add-ons would be a pain.
I am running Windows XP SP3, on a Dell Dimension 5100 with a 3gb
processor and 4gb of RAM. I have an ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series 512mb graphics card, the display is running at 1024x768 and the DirectX (v 9 I think) tests all work fine.
I have been flying MS FSim for six or seven years so would dearly love TrackIR to work with this, my favourite sim. Please help!!
