Did you purchase your unit directly from the TrackIR website or one of our authorized dealers? Is your unit more than a few years old? I am not aware of any TrackClip Pros sold without the USB power tap over the past several years.

I did not consider this. I bought it from Amazon in 2023. I'll fill out the request, thank you.

I have the exact same issue as NashV1. It also occurs with the hat, not just the clip pro.

Interestingly, a similar problem happened before I purchased the TrackIR 5, albeit differently.
I used the OpenTrack neural net tracker with a regular webcam at the time.
If the camera preview window was minimized, tracking FPS would drop in-game.
If the camera preview window was not minimized, tracking FPS was similar to what I experienced in-game.

Btw this is the exact behavior I get in DCS and BMS:
Constant above 100 FPS in-game, but only ~30 FPS for head tracking.

As an experienced IT Admin, I’ve tried many of the usual troubleshooting steps, but none helped.
Could be related to how non-"active" windows are processed, possibly tied to Windows or GPU drivers..
In any case it shouldn't exist on a premium device like TrackIR though..

Moreover, suggesting fixes like limiting Hz or FPS for any head tracking device isn’t acceptable, especially for one at this price!

Our developers recommend trying the following:

download latest drivers/windows updates -> turn off variable refresh rate on monitor and just keep it to the multiples of 120 manually -> turn off vsync and gsync -> turn down other graphical settings to try to stabilize framerate -> change refresh rate to 60hz.

You may want to look at your graphics card settings to see if there are any other settings that can also stabilize the frame rate. If you are not able to run the game at 120 Hz, they suggest running it at 60 Hz instead.
