TIR4 doesn't work anymore with FsX

HI,
I am *also* having the problem of no blue LED in FSX.
I had to uninstall and reinstall FSX, with SP1 on top.
TrackIR was working, i.e tracking - but no blue LED in FSX.
I uninstalled\reinstalled trackir latest software with reboots. Still no blue LED, and I really don't fancy reinstalling FSX again...
Unfortunately, trying to follow these threads isn't easy.
Maybe the admin could create a stickie with the common steps to take to resolve this issue??

What OS are you running?

What version of FSX?

Do you have any firewall/antivirus software installed?

We do have some general steps to look at, on the tips and tricks pages of the individual games -

The issue is that there can be several items that prevent the TrackIR from working with FSX, so we need to try and narrow done the possibilities......

HI,
XP SP2, and Deluxe version.

I accidentally uninstalled FSX (hit uninstall rather than repair...). I cleaned up the relevant (?) folders in documents and settings and winsxs, as well as uninstalling TrackIR.
I've now got a "clean" retail version of FSX deluxe and TrackIR. Both are working. I am about to try installing SP1 for FSX.

As for AV and firewall - yes; SAV9 and Zonealarm6.x

I think in the tips and tricks I got confused between general advice and advice specific to a particular user.

I'll let you know how I get on with SP1

With SP1 it's still ok.
So, uninstall of FSX and TrackIR - with manual cleanup of the folders does the trick. Bit heavy, but at least my TrackIR is working again! Can't play FSX without it

I too cannot get Track IR to work with FSX.
All other games, inc. FS2004, are fine. Just FSX.
Have XP Pro SP2.
Track IR 3 with vector clip.

Yellow light on, but no blue light.

Have uninstalled/reinstalled FSX multiple times - no joy.
Have uninstalled/reinstalled/updated Track IR multiple times - no joy.
Have uninstalled Zone Alarm for the crappy XP Firewall -no joy.
Have given Windows Firewall exception status to FSX and TrackIR - no joy.
Tried with all other USB devices unplugged - no joy.

Frankly I am sick of running around in circles trying to get track IR to work with FSX when it works perfectly with every other flight sim that I have. I can't enjoy FSX as I can't install anything as I keep having to uninstall/reinstall everything to try the latest suggestions, am am getting rather exacerbated by the whole thing.

Why is it just FSX?
What is causing it?
And why hasn't it been patched to prevent it?

Is there anything else that I can try beforeI give up completely?

Usually, when FSX stops working with the TrackIR, it is due to the Simconnect portion of FSX has failed....

Microsoft is working on a fix to be implemented in a future SP release....

OK, one step to try�.

1 - Delete the following file folder

C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905..........
2 - Insert the FSX CD, and run the repair utility. Basically we are looking to reinstall the folder.

3 - Hopefully this should remedy the issue.

Deleting didn't work.
So I got medieval on the PC.
Stripped FS2004, FSX, TrackIR, and a whole host of drivers and programs, off and cleared out all the relevant folders of any remains.
And now finally It's working at last - que trumpets and chorus of angels.

I'm slowly putting the junk back on making restore points as I go, so that I can try and track down and keep off anything that affects it. I'll post what the trouble maker was if I can pin it down.

It is a pain to have to go to so much trouble for one 'sim', but flying without Track IR once you get used to it is like flying without a joystick.
