I am still having issues after trying the fixes mentioned. I have tried changing the Settings.xml file as well as deleting it entirely. I have also updated my c++ redistributables. I am on the latest Nvidia drivers (555.85) and i have tried earlier versions of TRIR as well to no avail.

If anyone has any pointers as to what to try next i would appreciate it.

Hi siport,

Can you describe the issue you are having, as it may be different from what neo_razgriz described. There are a few different issues that can prevent TrackIR from starting correctly, and each has its own symptoms.

Kind Regards,

I simply get a pop-up saying: "Application Error" and "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) click ok...".
it has been a while since i have used the software so i initially thought the version was just out of date so i deleted it togheter with the Natural point usb drivers and reinstalled the latest version of TrackIR (5.4.2), yet the problem persists. So the issue is that the application is not opening at all. NOT that it opens and then freezes or whatever other people have had issues with.

Hi siport,

Thank you for clarifying the issue you are having. This is a Windows error that usually indicates a missing or corrupted file. I would first try reinstalling the C++ Redistributables, including this version: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=40784. Make sure you install both the x86 and x64 versions.

I would also try running System File Checker to see if it detects any issues. There are some other suggestions listed here: https://www.howtogeek.com/874113/how-to ... n-windows/.

If you are still having trouble after trying each of these, some users have found success by resetting or reinstalling Windows.

Kind Regards,
