Vista x64 & driver signing
Re: Vista x64 & driver signing
This is why I decided to go with the 32-bit version of Vista for now. x64 drivers for trackir wouldn't do me a lot of good at this point in time because too many of my other devices and a good number of my games also aren't ready.
Like XP, it will be a while before everyone gets sorted. I stuck with 98 for my gaming for a good long while after XP was released.
Like XP, they will get there, and the wait won't be nearly as long.

Re: Vista x64 & driver signing
From our end, we are working on the drivers for 64-bit version of Vista.
Re: Vista x64 & driver signing
Hi Vincent,
Are we anywhere near the 64-bit betas? Any releases soon?
If there is a closed betatest or something similar, is it possible to join it somehow?

Re: Vista x64 & driver signing
There currently is no beta test for the 64-bit version of drivers for Vista, I will piost more information on there release as soon as they become available.
Re: Vista x64 & driver signing
Well we are about a month and a half from Vista release and still no drivers? Track IR still sitting on shelf collecting dust. Glad I bought it.

Hi,
Are you guy's getting anywhere with the 64 bit vista drivers yet? It is March and Vista has been on the shelf for a fair bit. Not only that, there have been beta versions of Vista for developers, out for ages. How come your company has left me short? My Saitek, and Logitech drivers were all ready. You have to admit this is poor quality after service form your company.

Re: Vista x64 & driver signing
I too am getting a bit unpatient. As was stated before, it wasn't anything of a surprise that Vista was coming and that x64 would required signed drivers. This information has been out for ages.
I realize Naturalpoint is a small company, but as such customer support and word of mouth is its biggest assest, or at least should be.
Can you at least give us a rough timeline? "We are working on" it has been the status for months now. Are we talking days? Weeks? Months?
My TrackIR is looking down on me from my monitor, I think it's sad because I don't play with it anymore

Re: Vista x64 & driver signing
Sad thing is that some companies are already coming out for updates for their original Vista 64 bit drivers. I'll have to admit that since this company is a lot smaller than the major players but you would think a date by now would be appropriate. These devices are not cheap and are designed for high end gamers. Too leave your device dead for months especially since Vista has been in corporate release for 6 months is very poor customer support.
Re: Vista x64 & driver signing
I too have a TrackIR sitting on top of my monitor just waiting for the drivers, but then, when I bought my TrackIR I wasn't promised to get it to work in Vista. So when I chose to install Vista X64 I knew my TrackIR wouldn't necessarily work and I accepted it. I'm sure NP understands the importance of Vista support even tho not everyone has it. I'm glad they are atleast developing the drivers and I'm sure they are out soon. There are more worse examples of support out there...
