Just sorting out an old disk drive I found some older profiles I would like to use or at least have a look at but the extensions end in ( .tir) instead of (. XML) and are not seen in the profiles list, is there an easy way to get these profiles to be (.XML) so that they are seen?
Cheers, Swifty
I have Trackir5 and have a friend who shared a profile xml file with me. I put it in the Trackri5 subfolder "Profile" and thought it should work it does not. I see here that it how it is done. I grabbed the Seth Flight profile from here and did the same thing with it.,.. it wont work either. When I start TRackir and go to profiles, there is only default listed. When I go back into the Naturalpoint/trackir5/profile folder both profiles Seth and my friends are right there where I left them. Why will they not show up in the program? Is there any thing I need to do to make the shared profile work in my version 5.4.2. The file is 7kb in size ..is this a normal profile file size? Any help is appreciated.....
Found what I needed in another thread that did not come up during a previous search. Fact is the version 5 in win 10 stores the profiles in %AppData%\Naturalpoint\Profile....not sure the link is typed out accurate but that's the general idea. Hope this helps someone else down the road.
The attachments are not currently working on this forum. You can copy and paste the following into Notepad or another text program, and save the file as Seth_Flight.xml:
Over the years I collected a few profiles from here and elsewhere, I have just discovered that the links are down here now, so I uploaded what I had to the Internet Archive.
Guys - my advice to everybody , do not copy foreign profiles - this is not right way to tune trackir. Everybody has own eyes head and feelings. Try to create own profiles and it will be much better believe me. Just a practive and you will see results. Foreign profiles always will have feeling of something wrong
