Screen size issue with TrackIR5

Help. My flight sim environment in FSX consists of a Matrox Triplehead splitter with 3 27" monitors. Once in the cockpit in order to get an optimum wrap around cockpit view I would use the (-) minus key to zoom out as far as it would go then fine tune even further with ctrl+enter. Even after doing this as soon as the camera detects the hat clip, my screen will resize way too big. Panning left and right is ok but I cannot pan down far enough to see all of the instrumentation. I can only see half of the front of the cockpit even if I back the clip out 5 feet. How do you adjust the starting point of reference like I used to and get TrackIR to track from that point? Seems to me like it should. If it won't work from this starting point in my specific configuration, then this product is useless to me as using the POV hat switch works fine. Hope you can help as I would like to keep this thing. Thank you.

Have you tried to disable the Z axis on the TrackIR? You'd lose your ability to zoom in by sitting closer though. Only other option may be to tweak the sensitivity of the Z axis if you didn't want to lose that ability.

I have done little playing around as I am at a loss looking at the software in what changes to make to resolve this. I will try your suggestion and I am open to any and all suggestions. As a side note, as I pan around the views will actually exit the cockit and everything is real shaky. Something, hopefully a combination of settings is all that is needed. Any playing around I have done so far has had little to no affect. Does this product work in a Matrox environment???

I made some changes to the Z axis and although not perfect I am getting close. I am not sure exactly what I am doing but I changed the curve and moved the center of the green line up and down. I am starting to understand these values a bit more so thank you for your suggestion. I need to spend a bit more time with it. What do the circles on the green line do? When I click on those and drag them up I don't see anything changing on the 3d view.

I think the circles on the line are just nodes so you can fine-tune the sensitivity curve. If you want to have a low sensitivity keep the line as close to the bottom of the scale as you can. Also if you have the center-most node at the bottom it will give you a slight dead-zone so it takes more movement to start to move at first.

You may also need to edit the airplane's config file and adjust the center of view from in there to move it back or forward as needed.

I did some more playing around and have things working pretty well now. Thanks to you and CASTUN for the suggestions. I did not do any modifications to the config file as it does not seem necessary right now. My issues were a lack of understanding what the changes to the parameters do. The Z axis was the key. I could not pan far enough down in the cockpit either but changing one of the other parameters resolved that. I understand this enough now to fine tune it even better. I also found that if I put the camera 40" away that helped. I just need to make a permanent jig for that. Overall, I kind of was anticipating install and go. I guess my setup required some adjusting in a few different areas.

For the most part we try to set it up so most users can install and go, however with more complex situations like yours, that can be a bit difficult to squeeze into one size fits most. Glad you were able to get it sorted out though!
